This meeting started out wrong. Due to the use of the fields by the soccer leagues, at the last minute we were denied an application to use any part of the park. Since our publicity had already gone out, we decided to show up and claim a small part of the park for an informal meeting. When Janina Plinsky and Mimi Pollow pulled up, the parking lot was empty. No soccer players were on the rain-soaked field. We did have 20 people and about the same number of dogs. And we saw only 2 soccer players. Maybe it was the weather which was quite overcast, but not rainy.
Though they were confined by their leashes, the dogs seem to know that this situation would be short-lived and soon they would be running free with the wind blowing their ears. Bubbles, a 12 pound Shih Tzu, made sure that all the bigger dogs knew that she expected to see them at the park and they better be prepared to PLAY!
