| Distances/Trails: |
These
evening walks will consist of 10KM trails with shorter 5KM options
along residential sidewalks and park trails in Fairfax, Virginia.
This is a new start point so trails will pass through new neighborhoods
in the Fairfax Station and Burke areas of Fairfax County. Trails
should be suitable for strollers, though wheelchairs may encounter
some difficulty. Written instructions and maps will be provided
for each walk; trails will not be marked. |

These
are credit-only events. No awards are available, though some B awards
from previous NVV events may be available for an appropriate fee. |
| Fees: |
There
is no charge to participate in these events, though each participant
must sign the liability waiver and carry a start card. The fee for
IVV credit only is $3. |
| Pre-registration: |
There
is no pre-registration for these events. |
| Stipulations: |
Pets
must be under control at all times and must be picked up after. Pets
are not allowed in the start point. Everyone is welcome. Participants
may walk, jog, or run. An adult must accompany children under 12.

| Directions: |
From
I495 via Braddock Road: From the Capital Beltway, take
Exit 54A (Braddock Road West) towards Fairfax. Continue west on
Braddock Road (VA-620) for about 6 miles. Soon after you pass entrances
to George Mason University on your right and a shopping center on
your left, turn left on Ox Road (VA-123) and head south for about
2.5 miles to Burke Centre Parkway. Turn left on Burke Centre Parkway
to head east for one block. Turn right into the first drive on the
right and turn right again to head into the parking lot on the north
side of the school. The start point will be located beside a car
in the upper lot to the right.
From
I-66: From I-66, take Exit 55 (Fairfax County Parkway/VA-7100) south
towards Fairfax. Continue south on the Fairfax County Parkway for
about 5.2 miles until you reach Burke Centre Parkway. Turn left
on Burke Centre Parkway and drive east for about 7/10ths mile to
Ox Road (VA-123). Continue straight across Ox Road and drive for
another block. Turn right into the first drive on the right and
turn right again to head into the parking lot on the north side
of the school. The start point will be located beside a car in the
upper lot to the right. |
