July 3 - Hays, KS to Denver, CO

It was again steamy and hot. We passed things that we, as Easterners thought were oil rigs

As we neared Colorado, the hills flattened out and became what I had remembered.

The next stop was Denver, CO where we were going to pick up my niece Jayme Kagan who is nine for the next leg of the trip to the Grand Tetons. We spent the afternoon with Debbie, Mike (age 14), Brooke (age 1), Ken, and Harry, Ken's dad, at their new home. It was wonderful to see them all again, especially Brooke who had grown into a little girl in the 8 months since I had seen her.

We stayed at the Best Western Executive which was nice, but we had a second floor room again.

We didn't do a volksmarch that day.
